The accused, George Asiedu Darkwa, was charged with defilement but pleaded not guilty and is to reappear in court, presided over by Mr Atta Sampong, on June 5, 2013.
Briefing the Daily Graphic, the Akyem Oda Divisional Police Crime Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr Stephen Boadu, said in December, 2012, the victim was on her way to school when Darkwa invited her to his house under the pretext of sending her.
He stated that the victim accompanied Darkwa to his house at Akyem Aboabo and, on reaching the house, Darkwa forcibly had sexual intercourse with her, after which he warned the victim not to disclose her ordeal to anyone.
According to the Crime Officer, Darkwa threatened to kill the victim if she informed anyone about what she had gone through.
He said that the victim got pregnant and some concerned citizens who saw the pregnancy informed her grandmother about it.

He said Darkwa was arrested, but denied ever having sex with the victim. But after investigations, he was charged with the offence and arraigned.
