About 750,000 teenagers between the ages of 15 and 19 got pregnant in the past 12 months.
They were involved in unprotected sex, according to the Ghana Health Service.
A proportion of them were also reported to have engaged in abortions.
The development worries some health experts who want intense education on the use of contraceptives among sexually active youth if abstinence is proving difficult.
A consortium of International health NGOs namely DKT international, Ghana Mary Stopes International and Graamay foundation are waging a campaign to reach millions of youth with condoms.
Country Director of DKT International Ghana, Kelvin Hudson, in an interview with XYZ News said a new marketing strategy is needed to promote female condoms to reach young girls in need of them.
