50-yr-old teacher rapes student, 15

A 15-year-old Junior High School student has been bleeding for the past three months after she was reportedly raped by her 50-year-old teacher.

The teacher Korli Tetteh allegedly raped the girl in a farm field in Salemsi, a community in the Manya Krobo district of the Eastern region.

Starr News has learnt that the family of the victim has refused to report the case to the police after taking Gh¢1,500 from the teacher.

Speaking to Starr News’ Eastern regional correspondent Kojo Ansah, the victim said she is finding it difficult to endure the pain.

She said the teacher forcibly penetrated her on the farm having sent for her to bring him a bowl of water.

“He asked me to wait to return with the empty bowl. When he was done with it, he asked me to come for it, immediately he grabbed me and had sex with me right there in the field. It was painful… I have not been taken to the hospital. I feel pains and bleed intermittently,” the victim narrated.

According to Ansah, the victim has been relocated to the residence of a retired teacher [her guardian] in Bososu in the Fanteakwa district. He said the police are likely to arrest the suspect today for questioning.

Meanwhile, the head teacher of Samlesi Salvation School, Florence Hevi, has promised to summon the suspect about the issue, adding she is not aware of the issue against her employee.
